Buyer's guide: choosing mirror glass
Left or right side?
Sides are named as you sit in the driver's seat. On a UK car, left is the passenger side, also called nearside or N/S. Right is the driver side, also called offside or O/S.
Convex or aspherical?
Convex glass is curved evenly across the whole surface. Aspherical (wide angle) glass has an outer area that curves more, often marked by a line, to show more of the blind spot. Match the type of your original glass.
Heated or not?
Heated glass has two electrical terminals on the back to connect to the mirror's heating wires. If your original glass has these terminals, choose heated glass.
Clip-on or stick-on?
Clip-on glass comes fixed to a backing plate that clips onto the mirror unit. Stick-on glass is the glass only: it fixes onto your existing backing plate with adhesive pads.
